The CONCEPT-BASED MATH FOUNDATION PROGRAM is designed to develop deep understanding of mathematical concepts through a structured and progressive approach.
Rather than memorizing formulas, children are guided to understand numbers, visualize relationships, and explain their thinking with confidence.
The program integrates hands-on learning, visual representation, and symbolic understanding, ensuring that children build strong and lasting math foundations.
Our goal is to develop confident problem-solvers who can think, explain, and apply math meaningfully.

Phase 1 β Number Sense
Focus:
β’ counting
β’ one-to-one correspondence
β’ number recognition (0β10)
β’ comparing quantities
β’ number composition
π Outcome: Children understand numbers and quantities.
Duration: 20 sessions
Phase 2 β Addition & Subtraction Concepts
Focus:
β’ combining and separating groups
β’ number relationships
β’ simple word problems
β’ introduction to operations
π Outcome: Children begin solving basic math with understanding.
Duration: 20 sessions
Phase 3 β Multiplication & Division Concepts
Focus:
β’ grouping and repeated addition
β’ equal sharing
β’ early multiplication and division thinking
π Outcome: Children understand patterns and relationships in numbers.
Duration: 20 sessions
Phase 4 β Mathematical Thinking & Problem Solving
Focus:
β’ word problems
β’ logical reasoning
β’ explaining solutions
β’ multi-step thinking
π Outcome: Children think mathematically and explain their reasoning confidently.
From understanding numbers to solving problems, we guide children to think clearly and apply math with confidence.

π± LEARNING APPROACH
Concrete β Pictorial β Abstract β Written Expression
1. Concrete Stage (Hands-on Learning)
Children use real objects such as:
β’ counting cubes
β’ beads
β’ counters
β’ blocks
They physically experience quantities, building true understanding of numbers.
2. Pictorial Stage (Visual Representation)
Children represent numbers through drawings and visual models.
Example:
β¬β¬β¬β¬β¬
They begin to see and visualize number relationships.
3. Abstract Stage (Symbolic Understanding)
Children use numbers and symbols to represent mathematical ideas.
Example:
3 + 2 = 5
They understand what numbers meanβnot just how to compute.
4. Writing Representation (Explaining Thinking)
Children are guided to express their mathematical thinking through simple written or verbal explanations.
Example:
βI had 3 blocks, I added 2 more, now I have 5.β
This develops clarity, reasoning, and confidence in problem-solving.
