STRUCTURED READING FOUNDATIONS
The READING FOUNDATION PROGRAM is a structured and progressive program designed to build strong skills in Reading and Writing.
This program develops a child’s ability to decode, blend, read with understanding, write clearly, and express ideas with confidence. Each phase ensures mastery before moving forward, creating a strong and lasting literacy foundation.
Through systematic phonics instruction, guided reading, writing practice, and speaking activities, children grow into confident communicators.
Our goal is to form independent readers, confident writers, and effective speakers.
🌱 Program Structure
Phase 1 – Letter Sounds & CVC Reading
Children learn the relationship between letters and sounds and begin reading simple words.
Focus:
• Letter-sound recognition
• Sound blending (CVC words)
• Early decoding skillsOutcome:
Children begin to read simple words independently instead of guessing.Duration: 20 sessions
Phase 2 – Long Vowels & Vowel Teams
Children learn vowel patterns to read longer and more complex words.
Focus:
• Long vowel sounds (ai, ee, oa, ay, etc.)
• Word patterns and decoding strategies
• Reading short passagesOutcome:
Children read short texts with fluency and understanding.Duration: 20 sessions
Phase 3 – Blending Mastery & Digraphs
Children strengthen blending skills and learn common digraphs (sh, ch, th, ng).
Focus: • Advanced blending of sounds
• Recognition of digraphs
• Reading more complex wordsOutcome:
Children read with improved accuracy and confidence.
Duration: 20 sessions
Phase 4 – Reading Expression & Public Speaking (Elementary Level)
Children apply their reading skills to develop expression, comprehension, and confident speaking.
Focus:
• Reading aloud with proper expression and intonation
• Understanding and interpreting texts
• Public speaking and presentation skills
• Sharing ideas clearly and confidentlyOutcome:
Children become confident readers and effective speakers, able to present, share, and communicate ideas with clarity.
